| Shimko has a quick and accurate release. He has decent footwork, despite being such a big QB. A solid mid-range passer with touch. He is smart and reads through his progressions well. Not the most mobile of quarterbacks but he moves fairly well. He shows a lot of poise in the pocket and is a leader. |

As a junior, Shimko threw for 1400 yards, 18 touchdowns and eight interceptions on his way to first-team All-County and second-team All-Area honors.
As a sophomore, he threw for 1160 yards, 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on his way to second-team All-County honors.
