"It's the competition that they play and everything," Hodges said
on why he's allowed PSU back into the recruiting mix. "I like the way the
coaches recruited me and I think I have an opportunity there."
Hodges went on an unofficial visit to the school a couple of weeks ago and
went to the game against Michigan. He plans on going on an official visit with
the school in December.
Just those two
He didn't decide to open up his recruiting because of RU's slow start, simply
because what he stated before. The four-star recruit from Paulsboro will also
be making an official visit to Piscataway sometime in December.
On why he originally committed with the Knights, Hodges said he was impressed
with the solid recruiting class Schiano was compiling.
"I liked the players they had coming in," he said. "I also had
a good relationship with Coach Schiano."
Besides Tom Savage who's in contact with almost every Rutgers prospect, Hodges
has been in contact with Aaron Hayward, Shawney Kersey and Logan Ryan. All of
them except for Kersey have been nudging him to stay in Jersey.
"There trying to except for Shawney Kersey," he said. "He's
kind of stayed by my side. Me and him are close friends so we're trying to pick
the same school basically."
While it's between Rutgers and Penn State, Hodges said he will probably takes
official visits to Iowa and Maryland. He will make a decision on where he's
going to commit for sure by January because he's going to college in the spring.
Hodges said he will talk over with his family where he wants to go, but three
things that he's looking for in a school are academics, his relationship with
the coaches and the campus atmosphere.
