Smith, however, decided to put an end to his recruitment in early July, selecting Rutgers Football over numerous others. This past weekend, Smith had the opportunity to take in an RU practice and SOR ... Abdul Smith Profile caught up with the Garden State native. The superb athlete who lives in New Jersey but plays his high school ball in the KeyStone State thoroughly enjoyed the competitive nature of the Scarlet Knight practice session he witnessed first-hand. "I'm really eager to get out here [i.e., Rutgers] Freshman year and start playing college. College is different, the speed is faster in the game and there's a lot of talent out there, so I'm just eager to show what I have and contribute to Rutgers as early as possible," stated Smith.
