Will Jarrett Still Camp at Rutgers?
The offers keep coming for East Stroudsburg (Pa.) High four-star cornerback Kyshoen Jarrett, but one of the schools he covets an offer from continues to wait until they see him run at a camp next summer. The question, though, is after Wisconsin, Duke and Vanderbilt recently offered to push his list well past a dozen, will Jarrett still camp at Rutgers? "Rutgers? Definitely, because they're only an hour away,'' Jarrett said. "I can visit them whenever I need to. One of my teammates (linebacker Sam Bergen) committed there, so I can go whenever I want to.'' The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Jarrett hasn't been offered by Rutgers, largely because he ran a 4.8 in the 40-yard dash at a Rutgers camp last summer. He acknowledged after a visit to Rutgers for spring practice he understood why the Scarlet Knights did not yet offer, and actually agreed with the decision. He also told the staff he planned to camp at Rutgers and run a time worthy of earning a scholarship. He recently ran a 4.6 in the 40-yard dash, and talked about why it is important for him to get an offer from Rutgers. "They're a local team, they're close to my family, plus one of my teammates is going there,'' Jarrett said. "It would be cool to have an offer from them, and have a chance to think about that being a school I could possibly go to because one of their linebackers I played with for three years of my life.'' This week Jarrett competed in a state track tournament, but next week he will begin formulating his summer visit list. Among the schools to offer Jarrett are Pittsburgh, Michigan, Michigan State and Virginia. "I talk a lot to them, email a lot with them,'' Jarrett said. "I pretty much talk to everybody throughout the week. Nobody is really behind or ahead right now.''
