In the next to last piece of the position-by-position breakdown of Rutgers heading into 2010, looks at the defensive backs. The Scarlet Knights lose cornerback Devin McCourty and safety Zaire Kitchen, but have plenty of young talent to move in. The Scarlet Knights are also still recruiting a quartet of high school senior defensive backs.

The shutdown cornerback is gone, as is the hard-hitting safety. Rutgers lost two big, productive, comforting members of its secondary in cornerback Devin McCourty and free safety Zaire Kitchen, and finding capable replacements in spring practice will be a central focus.
