PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) _ Herve Lamizana had 22 points, eight rebounds and seven assists and Andrew Bryant had the chance for a potential game-tying shot slip through his hands as Rutgers escaped with a 75-72 win over Boston College on Saturday.
Rutgers (10-10, 2-6 Big East) won for the second time in nine games while snapping a three-game winning streak by the Eagles (11-9, 4-5).
With Rutgers holding a 74-72 lead, Boston College's Louis Hinnant inbounded from in front of his own bench. He threw over the defense to Bryant, who was open just outside the lane.
But the pass nicked the net, slipped through Bryant's outstretched hands and went out of bounds with 1.8 seconds left
Rutgers inbounded to Jerome Coleman, who was fouled by Nate Doornekamp with less than a second left. Coleman, who averages 18.6 points per game but was held to six on Saturday, made one of two and Boston College did not get a chance for a game-tying attempt.
