Rutgers sophomore running back Joe Martinek had the best game of his young career, rushing for 147 yards on 19 carries in the 34-13 win at Maryland. Afterward, Martinek talked about the job of the offensive line, the play of quarterback Domenic Natale and how he remained focused despite not playing much in the middle two quarters.

Rutgers running back Joe Martinek got the carries in the first quarter, but sat and watched Jordan Brooks get the work in the second and third quarter.


However, when Rutgers was trying to salt the game away in the fourth quarter, Martinek was in the backfield.


The offensive line wore down Maryland, and it resulted in Martinek popping a few big runs in the final minutes.


He scored on a 29-yard run with 4:53 remaining, and added a 61-yarder less than 90 seconds later to ice the win.
