Recruiting Analysis: Michaelee Harris
SOR took a look at his film to see how the 4-star recruit would be able to contribute to the Scarlet Knights.
At 6'0 180lbs, Michaelee Harris has decent receiver size and is a smart and crafty all around athlete who can help a team at either wide out or in the slot. He is an elusive playmaker who is ultra-competitive and understands the game of football. His athleticism allows him to find open space in the defense in order to capitalize on defensive breakdowns.
Harris doesn't necessarily have the best top-end speed but does display supreme quickness in his transition to his second gear. He has a good get-off, is a superb route runner, has very good change of direction, and can make defenders miss in space. Somehow he always seems to find a way to get behind his defenders and create separation normally by utilizing alignment to his advantage and always remaining one step ahead of his opposing corner. Michaelee is very affective at running seamless stop-and-go routes as well.
His hand-eye-coordination is superb. Although Harris is smooth enough to gain yardage after the catch, Michaelee looks the football into his hands and doesn't get caught up thinking about his next move before he actually catches the football. He plucks the ball out of the air with ease displaying his fabulous overall ball skills.
Harris has the ability to really leap-and–grab. When the ball is in the air, he takes ownership of it as if no one else has any business attempting to interfere with the transaction. His all-around receiver skills make him a sure-fire productive playmaker who will be an asset wherever he ends up. His skills should make him a quick study on the next level. The Scarlet Knights would absolutely benefit from attaining a guy like Harris who just makes plays. I believe he would be an immediate asset if not in the slot, then on special teams.
