Willing To Play Anywhere To Help Win

David Osei, hailing from Abington Pennsylvania, is officially part of the Rutgers family. During his junior year his 220lb physique grew into his present 6'4 250lb frame where he now believes will bulk up to around 285lbs.

David with his open minded approach to play anywhere needed on the O-line sees himself at the guard or even center positions. With regards to gobbling up defenders on the pass rush David said "I'm really good at placing my feet and getting in front of pass rushers." His agile feet are in large part due to his tremendous ability on the wrestling mat. The mild manored Osei currently boasts an undefeated record in his heavy weight class and looks forward to closing out as State Champion.

The overall recruiting process was embraced by Osei who recanted his first offer from Monmouth. "I was surprised to get an offer and excited to see the coaches at the school." Soon after, more offers from Villanova, Hofstra, Delaware, Rutgers and Akron came through.

After deciding to play football instead of wrestling in college Osei's visit to Rutgers left him with a lasting impression that this is where I belong. With guidance from his Father and older brother Osei said "My father made sure that academics are the main reason I select a school and Rutgers is a great fit. In the end I was comfortable with the environment and excited about the opportunity." David also envisions himself being a social studies teacher down the road after his football days are over.

Currently Osei has been continuing his wrestling routine which includes 45 minutes of running. In addition he works out an additional two hours improving on his power cleave, power squat and bench work. He also wants Rutgers fans to know he's excited and getting ready for his big move.
