Video Interview: Patrick Jackson

Patrick Jackson

RU's 2008 recruiting class is its most heralded in recent memory, and maybe ever, drawing a number 19 national ranking by Scout.com. Brooklyn's Pat Jackson is a member of the class, and is on campus and playing at the Barn. SOR was there recently to catch some summer league action, and as a result, are able to provide this exclusive video interview with a young man with a very promising future.

A very commonly used phrase in describing Patrick Jackson is that he's an "under-the-radar kind of guy". There are a few reasons for that, not the least of which is that the Boys and Girls HS product was hampered for much of his senior year by a bad ankle sprain. He's healthy now, and if the flashes he's shown at the Barn are any indication, Rutgers appears to have gotten a steal.

That someone who's watched him recently would have that reaction will undoubtedly come as no surprise to Jackson's AAU coach Andre Ambrose, who told SOR last October that "pound for pound, he may the best player coming out of New York. I think he compares well to guys like Devin Ebanks and Sylvan Landesberg. He has the same attributes and a better upside". That's extremely high praise, but the raw talent Jackson possesses becomes immediately obvious to anyone watching him for just a short time.
