Video Interview: Smith has RU at the Top

Abdul Smith [Perkiomen School (Pennsburg, PA)], currently at 6-feet/185-pounds, is somewhere in the mid 20's in terms of scholarship offers, with several more expected to come his way. After a tremendous showing at the RU camp earlier this week, Smith decided to come back today and check out Rutgers in greater detail. SOR caught up with Abdul and his father to discuss their trip in greater detail.

Abdul Smith [Perkiomen School (Pennsburg, PA)] has been courted by well over 20 other schools, including scholarship offers from Penn State, Maryland, Pittsburgh, and Rutgers. After an outstanding performance at the Rutgers Football camp earlier this week, Smith decided to come back to Piscataway, NJ, to check out the RU football program in greater detail. Abdul and Mr. Smith had the opportunity to meet with Rutgers Football Coach Greg Schiano, tour the facilities, meet members of the football staff, and much more.

Smith, ranked as the #25 Safety by Scout.com is being recruited by Coach Schiano to play Cornerback.

"We had a great opportunity to tour the facilities in-depth, and talk to some of the academic people, talk to some of the strength and conditioning people, and the go back and have some more dialogue and conversation with the Defensive Backs Coach, and also Coach Schiano," stated Mr. Smith, at the conclusion of the family's trip to Piscataway.
