RU Places 12 on '07 All-Academic Team

To receive nomination, a player must have a cumulative GPA average of at least 3.0 and must have completed a minimum of two semesters of academic work - in addition, said player must have earned a letter during the 2007 season. The Rutgers Football team was one of only 3 Big East schools to place 12 or more players on the 2007 Football All-Academic Team.

The Scarlet Knights, winners of a second consecutive bowl victory this past season, continue to reel in the post-season awards. The Big East Conference announced earlier this week that 12 members of the Rutgers Football Team have been honored as members of the 2007 Football All-Academic Team.

Rutgers was one of only three teams in the Big East Conference to place 12 or more of their student-athletes on the All-Academc team (Syracuse and West Virginia being the other two).
