Before this season began, most followers of Rutgers basketball felt that although the Scarlet Knights were not a deep team, it was still reasonable to expect modest improvement this year. Now however, with freshman Corey Chandler hobbled with a stress fracture, RU seems destined for a long and painful year, one where reaching last seasons win total will be a significant accomplishment.
