"We have a football team that's playing hard together right now," stated Rutgers Head Football Coach Greg Schiano after the conclusion of the Scarlet Knights 41-24 victory over Navy. Indeed, despite the greenness of the LB-ing squad, RU's defense held it together against an offense that continues to baffle the opposition year in and year out. | |||

"The defense came up with some big stops," stated Rutgers Football Head Coach Greg Schiano. While RU's "D" did bend and were driven on, the unit make the necessary plays in critical situations. Navy's offense showed several new wrinkles that RU had not been witness to prior to Friday night's game, but the staff and players were able to patch up the holes, adapt, and make game-turning plays. Damaso Munoz' second quarter pressure led to one TD-saving INT by S Ron Girault while S Courtney Greene made an acrobatic leap that led to another TD-saving INT late in the contest. Offensively, Rutgers continued to show the nation that they are no one-trick pony. While Raymell Rice continues to rack up the yardage, Tiquan Underwood eclipsed 100-yards receiving for the second consecutive game. Underwood and So. WR Kenny Britt combined for over 200-yards of receiving yards. Coach Schiano talked about the Scarlet Knight's offensive and defensive performance, and more in the post-game press conference: Part I: Watch Video Part II: Watch Video |
