Karron Clarke scored a season-high 21 points and DePaul held Rutgers to its lowest point total in the shot clock era in posting a 60-37 win over the Scarlet Knights on Saturday.

Draelon Burns and Marcus Heard added 10 points each for DePaul (11-7, 2-2 in Big East), which never trailed. J.R. Inman finished with 10 points for Rutgers (8-9, 1-3), which has lost three of its last four games.

The Scarlet Knight did keep DePaul's top two scorers in check - Sammy Mejia and Wilson Chandler were held to a combined nine points - but Clarke picked up the slack, scoring 14 points in the first half as the Demon Deacons took a 30-20 lead at the break.

DePaul then took control of the game as Rutgers went cold early in the second half, going without a field goal for nearly nine minutes while DePaul opened a 40-25 lead.

Overall, the Scarlet Knights shot 26.5 percent from the field, marking the second straight game in which they hit less than 30 percent of their shots. The 37 points also marked Rutgers' lowest point total since a 30-29 loss at St. Bonaventure Jan. 25, 1982.

DePaul also won the battle of the boards, as Mejia had 10 rebounds in helping the Demons to a 40-28 advantage.
