As signing day approaches, prospects have begun to make their final visits and conclude the recruiting process. One of the best uncommitted prospects is Brent Carter, who is a standout RB from Pennsylvania. To date, he has completed visits to Penn State, Boston College, and Rutgers with only one remaining to Virginia on January 27th.

Scout had a chance to interview Carter to obtain an update in his recruitment. Although Carter completed three of his four visits, he stated that there is no leader among his final four schools. He enjoyed all three of his visits and has a good relationship with all four of the coaches recruiting him. This could be one reason for Carter not having a leader.

Boston College was his first visit. He found the coaches to be really supportive. This allowed him to develop a true bond with the coaching staff and the players.

Carter stated that his visit to Penn State was great. Two of the biggest appeals are the family oriented atmosphere between the team and the coaching staff along with the football oriented campus. These attributes coupled with the academic and athletic support provided to the team left Carter to state "they make it hard to fail as a football player".

His third visit was to Rutgers. He stated that "I went there for their junior day and it was good to take an official visit". The academic support was one of the biggest attributes to the visit along with going to New York City. It was his first trip to New York City and he really enjoyed himself.

Since all of the schools are equal, Carter does have two criteria that he will use to make a final decision. These criteria are "who wants me the most in the end" and "where I feel the most comfortable". Rutgers is the school that is recruiting Carter the hardest. He stated that "Rutgers has been recruiting me the hardest from the beginning". While both Penn State and Rutgers are the schools where he feels the most comfortable. Football-wise, all three schools have a running game that makes up a good portion of the offense. The abundance of RBs, or lack there of, at a given school will not effect his decision. He stated that " I do not care about competition for the starting position, competition is everywhere and you need to face it sometime'.

Currently, Carter does not have a timetable for a decision. For him, it could be tomorrow or signing day. When he feels comfortable with his decision is when he will announce. Scout will be here to report his decision along with the multitude of other final decisions.
