Englishtown (N.J.) four-star receiver Saeed Blacknall never second guessed his Rutgers commitment after losing two New Jersey pledges this week. Blacknall plans to be as vocal as possible in keeping the rest of the Rutgers 2014 class solid and adding talent in the final months before Signing Day.

Englishtown (N.J.) Manalapan four-star receiver Saeed Blacknall made the college decision he felt was in his best interest. He did not worry about other recruits in the state and that remains the case after multiple Rutgers decommitments this week.

Blacknall, who said he never wavered from his Rutgers pledge, still feels passionately about staying home for college and the strength of the 2014 class.

“We lost two big commitments in the class and that hurt us a little bit, but we’re going to talk to them and try to get them back,” Blacknall said. “At this point, we’re going with what we have and we can’t worry about others. The people that are still committed are going strong. We’re going to the Big Ten and going to ride this thing out.”

Blacknall was quick to join in on comments made yesterday by quarterback commit Tyler Wiegers. The three-star passer from Beverly Hills (Mich.) Detroit Country Day was vocal in his belief in the Rutgers class yesterday in an interview with ScarletReport.com and on social media.

Blacknall plans to do the same as one of the highest profile prospects in the state.

“We need to set an example,” Blacknall said. “We’re going into something new and a new system with the Big Ten. I just hope we have as much talent in our commits as we can by the time Signing Day comes. We’re sticking together.”

Rutgers coach Kyle Flood has commitments 23 commitments staying solid to the program, and the bond is getting stronger by the day during a rough week, Blacknall said.

“I see this forming already,” Blacknall said. “I’m becoming friends with a lot of commits right now, and we know something special is on the way.”

Blacknall has the same message now that he did to recruits when he picked Rutgers over LSU, Ohio State and Alabama during the summer.

“If you’re from New Jersey, you stay home and you can’t go wrong,” Blacknall said. “It’s one of those things you can’t run from. You can’t run from something like this. This school is special. It’s going to be a part of a powerhouse conference, and we’re going to go in there with as much talent as we can. We’re going to ball out … for New Jersey.”
