Martin arrived at Rutgers at 8 a.m. and did not leave until late in the afternoon after a meeting 1-on-1 with head coach Kyle Flood.
"It was a really nice experience," Martin said. "They showed a lot of love. It was a good experience just seeing what regular athletes do. They go straight to chalk talk with their coaches after they wake up then they hit the field and the classroom all day. They practice before they take their classes."
Planning a visit to West Virginia, Marin now has the Mountaineers and Rutgers at the top of his list.
"I'd say after today Rutgers is in my top [schools]," Martin said. "I like them a lot and I have to take this visit to West Virginia to see them. That's my top."
Martin arrived at Rutgers early in the morning and spent an entire day getting a behind-the-scenes look at the program.
"I got to watch the running backs that are there now and that are going to be filling into the starting spot," he said. "I saw some of the true freshmen that came early and saw how hard they were working and what drills they were doing."
Martin said the message from Flood before his departure stood out most about his trip.
"They're all about family," he said. "They don't turn their back on each other. That's important to me."
Martin's next recruiting plan is an unofficial visit to West Virginia. He hopes to have a decision made by the start of his senior season.
