Rutgers offensive coordinator Dave Brock is heading to Delaware to take over its vacant head coaching position, sources told ScarletReport.com.
Brock and Rutgers linebackers coach Dave Cohen were both candidates for the position following K.C. Keeler’s removal.
Rutgers coach Kyle Flood will have a new offensive coordinator in his second year as head coach. The change marks the fourth straight season with a new Rutgers play-caller on the offensive side of the ball.
Flood will begin his search for a replacement immediately, with running backs coach Norries Wilson and quarterbacks coach Rob Spence getting in-house looks.
Brock’s Rutgers offense ranked 104th in overall production, but produced the first 1,000-yard rusher in four seasons in Jawan Jamison. The 26 sacks allowed in 2012 are down for 61 in 2010 under Kirk Ciarrocca.
Prior to his time at Rutgers, Brock served as a position coach at Boston College, offensive coordinator at Kansas State and assistant head coach with North Carolina.
