PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- It was a struggle for Mike Rice to keep emotions in check during a 20-minute interview session following his return.
Suspended as Rutgers head basketball coach because of behavioral issues at practice, Rice was apologetic for what he called "the stain" he put on Rutgers University and vowed to make the best of his second chance.
Rice said re-gaining trust begins with his actions and promised that he would put together a product the community can be proud of.
