Washington, DC - St. Elizabeth (DE) wide receiver Andre Patton is among a handful of Rutgers commits participating in the annual all-star Chesapeake Bowl. "I am looking forward to making new friends and having fun," he said. Patton has had the chance to bond with fellow commits like Eric Wiafe, Anthony Cioffi and Myles Nash, just to name a few. "We have spent some time together and it's been cool getting to know everyone."
As he strengthens that bond with his future players, he remembers back to earlier days in his recruiting process when he was actually leaning toward a different school.
"I actually was leaning more toward another school, West Virginia, and thought it out and knew Rutgers would be a better fit for me because it was more convenient, closer to family so they can come out and see me., and the big thing now is that they are moving to the Big 10 and that is a plus."
Patton will take his official visit to Rutgers Jan. 25. Before he begins his college football career at Rutgers he is focused on staying in shape, "running, running, running. That is my focus before I get to Rutgers," he said. Stay tuned.
