Coach of the Year: David Cutcliffe, Duke
Offensive Player of the Year: Tajh Boyd, Clemson
Defensive Player of the Year: Bjoern Werner, Florida State
Freshman of the Year: Duke Johnson, Miami
Expert's take: Florida State won the ACC this season and they lead the way with 12 players on the All-ACC Team along with the Defensive Player of the Year in Bjoern Werner. Clemson has seven players on the list, and their quarterback Tajh Boyd was named Offensive Player of the Year. David Cutcliffe has made Duke into a competitor in the ACC and after finishing with a 6-6 overall record, he was named Coach of the Year.

Coach of the Year: Charlie Strong, Louisville
Offensive Player of the Year: Teddy Bridgewater, Louisville
Defensive Player of the Year: Khaseem Greene, Rutgers
Freshman of the Year: Tyler Matakevich, Temple
Expert's take: Teddy Bridgewater proved his worth to the Louisville offense when he rallied Louisville from a 14-3 deficit to beat Rutgers 20-17 and clinch a BCS bowl berth in the final game of the season. That Bridgewater did it with a broken non-throwing (left) wrist and a bad ankle made it that much more impressive. Strong got the nod over Rutgers coach Kyle Flood in the coach of the year vote because the Cardinals rallied big on the road at Rutgers to get that BCS bowl bid. Flood did a fine job in his first season, but losses to Pittsburgh and the Cardinals to end the season kept the Scarlet Knights from winning the outright title.

Expert's take: Some spots were obvious, others were tough to decide for the All-Big Ten team. The most hotly contested spot may have been linebacker -- fitting, since that is a spot at which the conference has had a rich, storied history. Our final three, Ryan Shazier, Michael Mauti and Jake Ryan, not only filled the stat columns, but they made key plays at key times. Max Bullough, Chris Borland, and Mike Taylor, in many years, would be first team guys and even a few guys left off the list like Gerald Hodges, would be first team guys in other years. A few other spots, like tight end, kicker, and others, had more singularly deserving candidates.

Expert's take: The Big 12 had a lot of teams close in talent, which makes each an every selection on the team up for debate. However, no position will be debated more than the selections at quarterback. Left off the first and second team is West Virginia’s Geno Smith, who was an early front-runner in the Heisman Trophy hunt. He put up big numbers all year, but both Collin Klein and Landry Jones netted better overall results, while still amassing some impressive statistics.

Coach of the Year: Mike Riley, Oregon State
Offensive Player of the Year: Marqise Lee, USC
Defensive Player of the Year: Will Sutton, Arizona State
Freshman of the Year: Marcus Mariota, Oregon
Expert's take: The easiest choice was the offensive player of the year. Marqise Lee is quite possibly the true best player in college football. His year was terrific. The rest weren’t so easy. Defensive player of the year could have gone to about four-five players. Anthony Barr, Jordan Poyer, Ed Reynolds and Dion Jordan all had a case, but in the end, Will Sutton was the most disruptive player in the conference. Freshman of the year was really a three-horse race: Marcus Mariota, Leonard Williams and Brett Hundley, and in the small sample of time, Kevin Hogan could have been a contender. Coach of the year could have gone to Jim Mora, who took over a 6-8 UCLA squad and won the Pac-12 South and finished 9-4. Or it could have gone to David Shaw, who was the coaches' pick after winning the Pac-12, which he didn’t do last year with Andrew Luck. The choice for us was Mike Riley, who turned a 3-9 team into a 9-3 team.

Coach of the Year: Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M
Offensive Player of the Year: Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M
Defensive Player of the Year: Jarvis Jones, Georgia
Freshman of the Year: Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M
Expert's take: Kevin Sumlin left Houston for Texas A&M late in 2011, and he had the Aggies playing some of the best football in the country at the end of the season. The Aggies finished 10-2, winning in Tuscaloosa along the way, and Sumlin is the Scout.com SEC Coach of the Year. Alabama is playing in the national championship game for the third time in four seasons and they lead the way with seven players selected for the teams.
* -- No second team selected
