The Syracuse Orange were once again the first to score, but unlike the Eastern Michigan game, they would never play from behind.
After having trouble inside at times versus Eastern Michigan, Syracuse showed ferocity at the rim against Long Beach State. In the first half, sophomore forward Rakeem Christmas led all rim-rockers with three dunks for the Orange.
At the break, Syracuse had opened the game up to a 20-point lead in their favor, 49-29.
Junior forward C.J. Fair was the first to score to open both the first and second halves. He led the Orange in scoring with 16 points. Michael Carter-Williams followed close behind with 15.
The Orange attacked the rim, achieving seven dunks for the game, with senior guard Brandon Triche, freshman guard Trevor Cooney, and freshman forward Jerami Grant joining Christmas inside.
Syracuse extends their lead even further in the second half, defeating Long Beach State by more than 30 points, 84-53.
