Bell Recaps Spring Game Visit

Oakcrest (Mays Landing, N.J.) 2013 recruit Brandon Bell projects as a top middle linebacker in the Garden State. Recently hitting double digit scholarship offers, Bell visited Rutgers for the spring game and spoke with ScarletReport.com about his latest trip to Piscataway.

The comfort level for Oakcrest (Mays Landing, N.J.) middle linebacker Brandon Bell and Rutgers continues to grow. Visiting for the second during the spring, Bell was one of many top prospects on campus for the spring game.

Bell brought his mother to the game for a chance to tour Rutgers and meet the coaching staff and both went home happy.

"This was the second time for my mom to come," Bell said. "She really likes [Rutgers]. She has a ton of questions. She likes that it's high in APR and in graduation rate. She likes that it's pretty close to home."

Bell enjoyed his visit to Rutgers, the third since receiving a verbal offer in February, but said he still has no leaders in the recruiting process.

"It was fun, but it didn't really change anything," Bell said. "Going back again only helps I guess. It was fun, but it's not like it totally changed anything."

Incoming freshman middle linebacker Quanzell Lambert continues to recruit Bell and the two hung out while at the spring game.

"You see it's really just a family up there," Bell said. "I got to meet [assistant coach Jim Panagos'] wife and kids and my mom did too. It was really nice. I felt good about it. I hung out with [Myles Nash] and Quanzell from Timber Creek and [Williamstown linebacker Buddy Brown]."

Lambert and other South Jersey Scarlet Knights are actively recruiting Bell to Rutgers, he said.

"They're talking to me about Rutgers and everything, but they understand I'm taking my time with this decision," Bell said.

Boston College was the latest program to offer Bell, who now holds 10 FBS offers and an FCS offer from Delaware.

He expects to visit Boston College and multiple other schools during the summer before looking to cut his list. A decision before the Fall is possible, but not necessarily a goal, Bell said.

"I'm still getting offers and my name out there," Bell said. "Boston College just offered last week. ... It's exciting, but I don't know too much about them yet. ... I'm definitely interested (in visiting)."
