Flood Targets Brock for Offensive Coordinator

Boston College tight ends coach Dave Brock is expected to replace Frank Cignetti as the offensive coordinator for the Rutgers football team, sources said. Brock is another assistant with a relationship with coach Kyle Flood from his time at Hofstra.

Aware of Frank Cignetti's planned NFL departure, Rutgers coach Kyle Flood worked to identify a replacement and likely found one in Boston College assistant Dave Brock.

Brock is the two-year tight ends coach for the Eagles, but is expected to become the offensive coordinator for Rutgers when Flood announces his staff changes, sources said.

Brock has a past relationship with Flood from time at Hofstra and coached as the offensive coordinator at both Temple and Kansas State. Brock gives Rutgers an in-state recruiting boost, hailing from Moorestown, N.J., in the southern part of the state.

"That will be good," said Rutgers commit Brandon Arcidiacono. "I know him from when I was being recruited by [Boston College]. I'll have to go home and watch some film on him."

Brock spent the last two seasons with Boston College as the tight ends coach and is expected to work with the position group at Rutgers. With Cignetti leaving as the primary position coach for quarterbacks, graduate assistant Andrew Janocko is expected to have a bigger role within the program, sources said.

Janocko is a former quarterback with Pittsburgh and learned under Cignetti with the Panthers and Scarlet Knights over the last two seasons.
