Rutgers added a major veteran presence on the offensive line today when R.J. Dill announced his choice for his fifth year of eligibly.
After four years at Maryland and three as a starter at right tackle, Dill chose to transfer for his fifth year.
Dill will enroll at Rutgers for the spring semester and compete immediately for a starting job at right tackle.
The 6-foot-7 Dills hails from Mechanicsburg, Pa., — the same hometown as freshman linebacker Kevin Snyder — where he was a two-star recruit in 2008.
"I would like to thank all the coaches who reached out and offered me a place to further my academic and athletic endeavors," Dill said in a statement. "However I have decided to finish my collegiate career at Rutgers University. I feel that Rutgers offers me the best opportunity to better myself as a student athlete. I am excited to end this college search so that I can focus on getting my graduate degree in labor relations, and look forward to becoming part of the Rutgers football family."
