Rutgers tripped a 6-foot-7, 270-pound offensive lineman from Edward H. White High (Jacksonville) last month, and ScarletReport.com caught up with him to discuss the latest twists and turns of his recruitment.

It's been a month since Edward H. White High (Jacksonville) offensive lineman Rashad Hill visited Rutgers, but the luster hasn't worn off.

The 6-foot-7, 270-pound Hill still holds the Scarlet Knights in high regard as he readies for his last two visits, which will be to Southern Miss (Jan. 21) and Kentucky (Jan. 28). He took a visit to Florida International last weekend.

"I had a pretty good time down there but I haven't made a decision yet," Hill said. "Basically, they took us out to eat and did a lot of the same things. I had a better time at Rutgers than I did FIU, to be honest with you, but everything down there was pretty good. I still like Rutgers, though.

"They all offered me in writing, except Rutgers. They said they want me, but they haven't given me a letter yet that they offered me a full scholarship."

Hill's recruitment was late in starting because so was his football career.

Despite playing football while growing up, Hill opted for basketball when he reached high school. It wasn't until the fall he made his high school debut on the gridiron, and he acknowledged he wish he did it earlier.

He has received mid-major attention as a basketball player, but that has paled in comparison to the attention he is getting after one season playing football.

"I'm going football because I like hitting people," Hill said. "It's more contact. I like hitting more than running around on the basketball court. There's nothing wrong about running around the court to keep me in shape, but I like hitting people."

Rutgers is recruiting Hill's teammate, offensive lineman Kaleb Johnson, and the two have spoken about playing together.

However, Hill said he will make a decision independent of what Johnson decides.

"My top is probably Rutgers, Southern Miss, Kentucky and FIU," Hill said. "I think a coach from Louisville is coming next week. He said they would offer me, but if they don't, I'm not going to worry about them."
